저자소개

이설작가는 어느 장구벌레의 우화이야기(비매품)으로 처음으로 문단에 등단하고 끝섬이라는 장편으로 대중의 호응을 이끌어 냈고
그 속편으로 이 소설을 냈습니다.   그는 센세이션을 일으키기 보다는 잔잔한 일상가운데 그냥 보기는 힘든 것을 관찰해 내는 데 성공하였고 그것을 읽기 쉬운 문체로 그려내는 데에 성공하였습니다. 번역자는 작가가 청소년을 겨냥하여 출판함에도 불구하고 게임등에 몰두하는 사태를 접하고 안타까운 마음을 피력하는 것을 보고 번역하기로 결심하고 시간이 허락하는대로 내기로 했습니다. 교편에 서면서 소설을 집필하는 것이 힘이 들었기 때문입니다.
